About

Vivian Zhou is a Chinese-Canadian cartoonist and illustrator based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She loves writing stories filled with magic, and her work often blends fantasy with personal narratives. She graduated from the Bachelor of Animation program at Sheridan College, and continues to pursue her love for visual storytelling.

Vivian is best known for being the creator of the graphic novels “Atana and the Firebird” and “Atana and the Jade Mermaid”. In 2025 she received the Emerging Artist Recognition Award from Arts Nova Scotia. When she isn’t working on graphic novels, she can often be found making little crafts, and drawing short comics for anthologies.
